Character creation* (but not generation) is now available at The Veiled Kingdoms MUSH (theveiledkingdoms.com port 4201). You must connect as a guest and @register your character name to create the character object and connect. Once you have done that, the password will be emailed to you.
Feel free to connect as a guest and chat with us or create a character and hang out!
Character Generation is almost complete, although our grid is still in need of descriptions. The +gifts will increase and become more detailed in the next month, too. The +news files are coming along as well.
*Character Creation: Creating a character object to use, not generating a character concept for play.

I admit I goofed off quite a bit this weekend, but I don’t think Jonquil can say the same about himself (in honesty). Here’s what I did do:
- Moved the +news files so that they are uniform. For instance, Shapeshifters is under the Setting catagory as is History. To get to Shapeshifters, one typed “+news shapeshifters.” To get to History, one typed “+news setting history.” Now it’s +news shapeshifters” and “+news history.” While both are still filed under Setting on the main +news entry, “setting” is no longer part of the syntax tree.
- Devised multiple parents for different room types. A room with a green name is safe (consensual) and in-character. A room with a red name is IC but dangerous, as in, the player waves consent by being in that room.
- Built more in-character rooms.
- Worked on Vampires +news entries.
- Enjoyed several conversations with Jonquil to devise and expand a few aspects of the game system.
- Modified the building policy.
- Considered some +gifts.
Things I should do this week:
- Drop those extra room parents I made today. I can use switch and the same attribute for the +where to accomplish the same desired effect.
- Add new +gifts.
- Add entries on Vampires, Shapeshifters, and History.
- Build more of the grid!
- Document those new ideas for developments and details in system for possible implementation later.
- Maybe start a few test characters and run them through CG as I add +gifts.
- Give Jonquil one of my old jobs: afk and idle. It’s a good thing I didn’t write the code for those before; we’d be throwing them out now.
- Write +news files for CharGen and Vacation.
- Tighten up the consent policy. A lot.
I’ve got worries I want to share, but I don’t have the mental vim to write this evening.

Caladium has joined our efforts. He’ll be a judge, an extra voice from time to time when the game starts. For now, he might be working with us on our news files.
In other news, we’ve been focusing on +news files. Jonquil’s been researching jaguars, and I’m working on the basic files for our RPG system. This part is probably the easiest, and although I might have liked saving +news for the end, we really need to flesh out what we’ve got so we’ll know what we need, especially when it comes to CharGen.
